Request for cooperation in preventing false declarations of various prohibited items including concealed cigarettes

In the international logistics industry, the strengthening of the customs compliance system in Europe at the beginning of last year has triggered a worldwide trend, including in the U.S. and Asia, for shippers of export cargo to be required to declare cargo information, including more accurate descriptions of the contents.

While customs compliance around the world has been tightened this way, unfortunately there has been an increase in the number of shippers making false declarations and shipping tobacco, meat products, etc., which are subject to various regulations in various countries.

These actions are subject to seizure and destruction of cargo by customs and quarantine authorities in each country, and fines for shippers/importers. Transportation and delivery companies are also subject to fines, increased inspections, so we are finding difficulties in these issues.

Therefore, we would like to request the cooperation of all our customers in preventing false declarations. In particular, the Australia Border Force requires us to prevent false declarations of tobacco shipments from Japan to Australia.

If the fraud is discovered, you may be charged an additional fee including a fine. We would appreciate your understanding in advance.
